What can I submit?
Any content regarding altered books or bookbinding is fine. We’re more interested in pictures of finished projects, but works in progress, guides, tutorials, and submissions regarding materials will be considered.
How can I get my art or entry on BookArt?
1. You can submit a new entry in full, providing the text and images through the submit page. If you choose to use this method, please use the dropdown box at the top of the form to select the appropriate content (image, video). It is especially important that you upload images to Tumblr if that is what you are submitting (otherwise this can cause issues with our layout and create more work for me).
2. You can also use the same submit function to enter the URL of you or someone else’s tumblr entry. I will then reblog that particular entry instead.
3. Lastly, you can also tag your tumblr entries with ‘bookbinding’ or ‘altered book’ and I am likely to check them out as I follow those tags.
What are the rules on submissions?
1. Images should be clear with good lighting and with the book(s) as the focal point.
2. It’s alright to submit works in progress, but we’d rather see the result unless the picture or content is particularly interesting in some way.
3. Try to include some information about what you’re submitting. For instance, whether you made it or someone else did, and the process in which it was made, if you know. Please also include a link back to where you found the content if you are submitting someone else’s work.
4. Please don’t submit something more than once. If you do not see it posted, it is either queued or was rejected.
